I tried, but could not make a deal on the Alco engine. It looks like it may be parted out or exported, judging from two others that want the engine. Oh well. :-(

I offered him that he could donate the engine but I would pay him $5,000 rigging costs. He wanted $8,500 rigging costs, more than we can spend.

Rick,

Do you know if the other two parties that are allegedly interested in the engine are also preservationists?

I must sadly say that this guy started out as seemingly trying to do the right thing, but it really did seemingly turn into how much money he could get. I do believe that if you raised the other $3,500 for rigging that he would have found a way to jack it up to $12,000.

Now, perhaps someone near King of Prussia could shadow the engine and bribe whoever ends up inside to deal with it?
