Years ago, before interstate highways, drivers would often try to keep up with UP steam trains along US 30 across Nebraska, usually being left behind. That you can still do it in the 21st Century is amazing. Here, 3985 is headed for the big weekend rail celebration in North Platte.

My $10K question would be;
How did the firebox and boiler did given the removal of the ""T” circulators".
