Unknown location, but probably Montreal, as it made frequent ventures into the US on the Central Vermont and Grand Trunk New England Lines. Now at TVRM for modification into a quasi-Southern Railway locomotive.

When you have an engine that good looking, is it really necessary to turn it into a quasi-southern PS whatever at TVRM?

I agree. Canadian locomotives were beautiful and reflected a unique culture and development for life in the north. I hate to see such a beautiful locomotive carved into something it never was supposed to be.

Dick,

As you know well, I share your love of Canadian steam. Fortunately, several other examples of CN Pacific's survive. So I have no problem seeing this one kitbashed into a Southern PS. I wish it had happened to GTW 5629, perhaps she might still be with us. In any event, I think that "carving" is a bit harsh. As far as I know nobody at TVRM has ever thought of sectioning the old girl. If it gets her running again, I can certainly handle seeing her in green and gold.

Best regards,
Kevin

Kevin -

I agree. Certainly BM&R 4-6-2 #425 in blue, with a few of her details changed, has resulted in an appealing looking locomotive.

Green steam is certainly better than no steam.
You make a valid point inspite of my prejudice!
