Rare in-service view of this 4-10-2 BLW demonstrator, with water-tube firebox. Entombed at the Franklin Institute since 1933.

Actually, the photo was taken at the the Baldwin Locomotive Works, perhaps after its tour of the west. What I would like to see is a color photo of it painted in the original Royal Purple paint scheme. Now that must have been a site to behold !
