I just received a newsletter from the Abilene & Smoky Valley RR in Abilene KS. They report that they have built a fire in their ATSF 4-6-2 #3415 and boiled up some water to do a boiler wash. They expect to complete installing all the appliances and a new boiler jacket in the next few weeks. Restoration of the tender is complete. They expect to do a steam test in a few weeks and hope to see #3415 move under its own power by the end of the year.

That's good news about a project we rarely hear about on this board. Not sure why the restoration of a large pacific is flying under the radar, I guess other pacifics are hogging the limelight?
