Friends, Just a little tid-bit to post that came up on another group. Just when I think I know an engine... Roger Robar on the B&M Yahoo Lists pointed out that F-7 B&M #4268 was built as EMD #930 (serial #9932). Roger explains, "This unit was used to conduct engineering electrical transmission tests on the Kansas City Southern RR under EMD Project 89955. Then was used to conduct engineering altitude tests on the Denver & Rio Grande RR under EMD 89533B1. The unit was painted in the latest Burlington color scheme (1949)and was on display at the 1949 Railroad Fair. This display unit can be seen at Conway Scenic Railroad and is owned by the 470 Club of Portland, Maine." I believe it lacks a prime mover, but that's a dang-fine history for just another B&M F-unit!
