The Clarendon & Pittsford was a subsidiary of the Vermont Marble Co. and served the quarries around Proctor, Vermont, but not the two namesake towns. It dieselized in the 1940s and sent all but 0-6-0 9 to scrap. The latter worked a few more years on the Rutland, having been purchased for a mere $500. Most of the trackage was removed in the 1980s, after being bought by the Vermont Railway, though a portion served as the Otter Valley tourist RR briefly. The unique marble enginehouse in the background is about all that remains today.
