Okay, this kind of freaks me out. I hope only good comes of it, somehow. By the looks of the gallery associated with this fire, it seems that exploded tire fragments are all over an adjacent roadway. Maybe it had been smoldering for a long time. O. |

The video at the Burlington Free Press website confirmed my suspicions, from having worked too many of these kind of fires: These are light chunks of debris that have floated upwards in the fire's draft and are falling back down as soot/cinders. These are not solids ejected in an explosion. |
