Here are two images of cars moved and stored in our new display barn on November 3-4, 2008. This was an interim move - the placement of cars in the building does not reflect the final display plan. With the services of Silk Road Transport, Museum volunteers moved 7 cars in a day and a half. Shown in this photo are DC Transit 1430, Brussels 17, Berlin 5954, and Brussels 1069 (in Orlando Hyatt livery). Not shown are WRECo 650 (behind DCTS 1430, and DCTS 0522 and Dusseldorf 955 which were moved after this photo was taken. One of the highlights of the move was the unwrapping of Washington Railway and Electric 650, a 1912 Brill-built semi-convertible center door car. In the late 1940s members of Shore Line Trolley Museum installed plywood sheeting over the window openings. Several folks including two visitors from Rockhill Trolley Museum removed a tarp and the plywood befor the car was moved into the new building. Wesley

Am i right in assuming that the cars were moved at this time (i.e., before track work, etc. was completed) to get them out of the weather as soon as possible? |

Looks great, what a beautiful new facility! I wish our cars could have such a fine home. Ted. |

We have to vacate our present facility before the new trackwork is completed. In addition we made the decision to re-use parts of the curent track that will be abandoned in order to save costs when we build the new railway, so there was no option to run the cars to the new barns. Wesley |
