I must say from some of the gloom and doom stories that I heard about these locomotives, I didn't expect them to look as good, from at least a cosmetic perspective, as these photos seem to indicate. My understanding is that these aren't real candidates for operational restoration, but look like they'd make decent displays with some clean-up, paint, a few missing items replaced. Also an interesting sign of our times... The movements made here in Illinois, but no mention as yet on the official IRM website, no mention on the IRM steam team's web log site, and just a quick mention/inquiry on the unofficial check-in site (The IRM Yahoo discussion group), but we are able to have a report, with photos, originating in California ! This is not meant to take anything from the IRM volunteers who made this happen, clearly they've been quite involved with the actual work, but it is interesting to see the reporting thus far originate from thousands of miles away ! Congratulations to the IRM steam team, and the new acquistions. |

Mostly that's because the locomotives happened to arrive on a Monday afternoon, and there weren't many people around. A couple of Steam Dept. guys were there, but they had better things to do. I didn't. :) They should be unloaded this Saturday. |

They have been unloaded onto IRM rails. Our guy dosent update the steam team website that often... we are trying to get more administrators added to the site. |
