The Illinois Department of Commerce hosted an online contest for the “seven wonders of Illinois” in 07. The IRM was ahead in the pools during the voting mostly due to the Chicago style vote early and often efforts of our members. Mysteriously when the winning attractions were posted no voting results appeared. The IRM, like my personal favorite the white squirrels of Olney, Ill. In the southern region, lost mostly to State Parks.
