Enjoyed the videos. Are these clips of 3759 from her farewell fantrip from LA to Barstow in 1955?

Around 6:22 on the first 3759 video you can see some kind of a silver pickup or shoe on the lead wheel of the training truck. Is that part of a cab signalling or ATS/ATC system?

This is in fact clips from the Santa Fe Farewell to Steam. I think that J Allen Hawkins did the film. The pick-up on the right side trailing truck is the ATS shoe.

I know that everyone wants to focus on 3759, but you also might take a look at the other end of the train. That is ATSF Cafe-Observation #1509. This month it is hosting a Mr. Claus, who lives way up north, on our sold-out North Pole Ltd. trains in Campo, CA. After the first of the year, it will be available for charter on any of our regular trains, including "Ticket to Tecate" (Mexico). Or, even on a chartered train on our line, if you want to splurge.
