It is good to see it running but it sure is a shame that she will be only ran on the short 5 miles of track. |

Well duhh of course it is, but it needs to stretch its legs some. I wonder if they have more track that they dont use? |

Okay, if there were a Reading or PRR Pacific of similar size (or heck, even a GTW or AT&SF Pacific) brought back to life on the Strasburg RR, would we be complaining that they "only" had 4.5 miles of track? Did anyone complain that Atlantic "7002" didn't have enough room to run? Well, yes, we would be and did. Ignore us. We've been spoiled in the past (and currently with occasional outings with 425 in Pennsylvania, 1293 in Ohio, etc.). I look forward to hearing more success stories on 3415, and this gives me a reason to consider Kansas en route to/from Arizona................... |

I just tried it, and it says that it is "no longer available." Any idea what happened to it? |

I am happy to see it running and I have no problem with it running on 5 miles of track. I was just saying that it would be nice to see it get up to speed at times because from the looks of it, it will be limited to around 12mph. Look at poor 765 it has only been able to run on a few hundred feet of track in the past few year. |

Where had this locomotive been over the past 50 years? Park? Musuem? She's beautiful! I love the Boxpok drivers, too! I wonder if BNSF will let her out for a run? |

Has anyone noticed that these guys seem to have some unsafe work practices?? Ex standing next to a safety valve as it is popping off, spining drivers, etc. Does anyone know if they have a steam qualified person running the show? |

A close proximity to the saftey valve is necessary to adjust it as part of setting the valves. The crewmember has a face shield and likely is armed with ear plugs. The spinning drivers were addressed in a thread over on TrainOrders as combination of the operating personnel "getting a feel" and working out some mechanical issues. Nevertheless, I'd be interested to hear from those involved. |
