From the Shops of WRC...

Image

  1. Merry Christmas! We hope everybody enjoys this wonderful season and makes lasting memories with friends and family.
  2. WRC is in the process of building a new boiler for a 3-foot gauge locomotive. The original German-built boiler was delivered to WRC about a year ago, and after a careful survey, it was determined to build a new boiler to meet FRA requirements.
  3. WRC is also building two boilers for 15” gauge railroad locomotives. One is designed specifically for a locomotive design by Historic Railway Consultants*. (It is almost complete as pictured below...)

  4. WRC is beginning production of ten (10... yes, that's right TEN!) new boilers as replacements for Cagney Class D and similar locomotives. These boilers will be built as a mass production, with slight modifications tailored for the individual customers who have placed the orders.
  5. We have done a significant amount of boiler work to Georgetown Loop No. 12.
  6. WRC looks forward to meeting many steam hobbyists at the Cabin Fever Expo next month.
  7. We had a great trip to Switzerland in October, and now have finally processed the many pictures. A complete trip report with many pictures is on our website.

Details of these projects can be found at http://projects.wrrc.us/

While we will not discuss details about our clients, we are still happy to engage in any civil discussions on this forum concerning the projects themselves. Feel free to ask!

One more note: Our web domain has changed, and while the old domain (wasatch-rr-contractors.com) still works, please update any links or bookmarks to the new domain. At some point in the future we will complete the transfer of the old domain to our new host provider and many page-specific links will no longer work.

The new URL's are:

http://wrrc.us/ (for the company home page) and http://projects.wrrc.us/ (for the projects page)

*Edit: We had originally indicated the boiler was designed for a Hillcrest kit. Our apologies to Mr. Allan of HRC for the mistake.
