A manufacturing company near Warren, PA, donated to the Lake Shore Railway Historical Society in North East, PA, their 1950 GE 25 ton locomotive (serial number 30827). When evaluated by Society staff and a professional appraiser/consultant a few weeks ago, the builder's plate was on the locomotive. Today (Monday, 12/29) when the locomotive was shipped to the museum, the plate had been pried off. If anyone encounters person or persons trying to sell this plate, please contact the Lake Shore Railway Historical Society at lsrhs@velocity.net A closeup picture of the plate on the locomotive is available upon request.

THANK YOU!

Ray Grabowski, Jr.
President, Lake Shore Railway Historical Society

Ray,

It might be good to post photos of the stolen plate on all of the major railfan/preservation boards. A picture is going to stick in someone memory a lot better.
