Sloan mentions the benefits of volunteering in the title but the article didn't mention some of the other things the Northwest Railway Museum does for its volunteers. An annual banquet is held at the Snoqualmie Ridge TPC golf club (museum pays for volunteers with 100 or more hours), snacks and other refreshments are provided during major events such as Santa Train, and regular volunteers even get a tricked-out name badge. What are some benefits offered to volunteers at other museums and tourist railroads, aside of course, from the opportunity to be a part of living history?
