If you have two steamers from the same class that need to be restored, would it be best to have one outfit do both locomotives? Save time on the learning curve maybe?

Like most broad questions, it depends - do both need the same work done, or is one primarily a boiler job while the other has shot running gear? Different people in this business have different areas of greater expertise. Time sensitivity - divide and conquer gets jobs done fast by sharing them out among different contractors who work on their bits at the same time, rather than one working in a linear progression. I'm no longer working in the business so I have no conflict of interest - if you want to PM me with more specifics pleased to help if I can.
