In 2000 Shaw Box mentioned in some sales literature that a very early Shaw overhead crane that was built in 1888 for the union Pacific Railway is still in use today. There is a picture of that crane in the pdf. Can anyone identify what shop that crane was located in and if it still does exist? www.cancocranes.com/images/catalogs/sha ... _hoist.pdf Thanks |

An 1890 article said it was an erecting shop in Cheyenne. Does the curent building that the UP steam crew uses date back to 1890? It looked a bit newer than that to me. |

I went through my photos of the UP steam shop in Cheyenne and I couldnt find a picture of the crane nor do I remember seeing it. |
