| Post subject: | Roswell Railroad - Georgia |
Hi, I have read Micheal Hitt's book on the Roswell. It is a very good book. I have been looking into builder's records and found that the Roswell actually had two used (not new from builder) narrow gauge locos over the narrow gauge years. I have seen a copy Southern Railway valuation maps and there are a number of minor track differences and information that Hitt did not have access to. I am planning to write an updated version of the book (Hitts is out of print). I am looking for photos of the Roswell Railroad, timetables, tickets, maps, etc. I am also looking for information on the surrounding industry - for example Dunwoody had a cotton gin, a grist mill and a saw mill. I'd like photos, sketches, or anything else from the Roswell.. As with my Gainesville Midland book, I'll be checking out the state archives for information. If you have anything you wish to share, please let me know. Thanks. Doug vV |
