Does anyone know the current ownership of the rail line that runs from the UP main near Glenwood Canyon into (through) Avon colorado??? Thanks for any info.

The rail line between Dotsero and Avon remains firmly in the hands of the Union Pacific; it has been embargoed by the railroad since about 1995. The UP has announced no plans for the line; it is commonly suspected that the UP retains ownership to keep the line from falling into the hands of the BNSF in abandonment proceedings. BTW, I believe that the UP is still occasionally running to/from the wallboard plant in Gypsum, a few miles east of Dotsero.
