Does anyone know the current ownership of the rail line that runs from the UP main near Glenwood Canyon into (through) Avon colorado??? Thanks for any info. |

Jason, The rail line between Dotsero and Avon remains firmly in the hands of the Union Pacific; it has been embargoed by the railroad since about 1995. The UP has announced no plans for the line; it is commonly suspected that the UP retains ownership to keep the line from falling into the hands of the BNSF in abandonment proceedings. BTW, I believe that the UP is still occasionally running to/from the wallboard plant in Gypsum, a few miles east of Dotsero. Mike |
