The Ocean Gate Historical Society located in New Jersey, has just purchased a N5 cabin car/caboose from Amtrak. The society wants to restore it to when the car was owned by the Pennsylvania Railroad. To do this, we need information about the carÂ’s history, on how to restore a caboose, and spare parts to a N5. The following information is a segment of the history of the car:
Built in 1918 by PRR
Transferred to Penn Central repainted maybe with #19201
Bought and repainted by Amtrak with #14006 and serial #14006PC19201
Any help you can give the society would greatly be appreciated.
