All, clip of "Photographer's Special" freight train shot during "Annual Picnic" at the WW&F Ry Museum. (Annual Picnic weekend is August 8 & 9 this year). Footage was shot in HD and has been uploaded to Vimeo. http://vimeo.com/4552678

Ah, Maine...

Enjoy,
Stephen

Outstanding, Stephen. Congrats to all for the years of work that went into making scenes like these possible again.

Wow. It sure is nice to see railroad video shot by folks who truly know their art.

What format are you shooting on? HDcam? I am thinking of taking the plunge into HDV this summer. I like what I hear about the Canon XLH1A

Thoughts?

Thank you, Erik! And thanks, Rob!

Rob, the footage in the Vimeo clip was shot using a Panasonic HDX-900, which operates in the DVCProHD format, 720p at 30 frames per second. As far as a good small HD camera goes, I've also heard good things about the Canon, and I really like using the Panasonic HVX 200...it has an intervalometer, and the P2 format is pretty cool!

Thanks again!
Stephen

PS - just for fun, here's a link to the same clip uploaded at twice the resolution.
