Because of is proximity to Hollywood and the real TV capitol which is Burbank :-), lots of TV Shows, made for TV movies and commercials have been filmed at Travel Town in Los Angeles.

Recently one of our volunteers found a link to an Adam 12 episode on Hulu which showed quite a bit of the inside of our museum and even the inside of a party car.

Toward the end but worth watching.

This has got a bunch of us on a kick to see how many other shows we can find online (or on video or DVD) to create a video library online at our website.

If anyone knows of or comes across any other shows online or on other recorded medium, would you post a link here or send me a PM?

I'd also be interested to see similar links at anyone else's museum.

Not really interested in mainline scenes of equipment in feature movies i.e.; 4449 in Tough Guys, but on the other hand, if you know of online videos of any of our preserved equipment when still in operation, please send those along too.

As I recall, an episode of "CHiPs" (the motorcycle cops, Ponch and Jon) concluded with a foot-and -motorcycle chase through Griffith Park and Travel Town.

The pilot episode of the TV series "Casey Jones", starring Alan Hale Jr., was filmed with Travel Town equipment in the late 1950s. Later episodes used Sierra RR #3 filmed around Jamestown, CA.

Probably not what you are looking for, but a certain men's magazine from here in Chicago shot scenes for a video (of someone who later appeared on Dancing with the Stars) at a museum that looks a lot like TravelTown. The same magazine also once had a shot taken at the New Hope and Ivyland.

Playboy shot a video 10 years ago at Orange Empire, with much footage of Ventura County #2.

There was a silly made for tv movie in the 1980's filmed at Travel Town. Retirement home residents bored, steal train from museum for excitement and escape. I think they stole a center cab diesel.

That would have been a neat trick since TT didn't get it's first diesel (the EMC model 40) until 1988 or 89, and I didn't have it running right until late 89 or 90. :-)

And there wasn't any place for it to go for a year ot two after that

My memory is failing, but I'll throw this out and hope somebody can confirm it. Wasn't there an episode of "The Waltons" where John-boy enters a station (not sure where) and exits into Travel Town? I recall some great night shots of the 3025. There was a close-up of the engineer in the cab with steam rising. When he pulled back on the throttle, the engine appeared to be moving forward (I'm sure the camera was on a dolly moving backwards). Maybe I got the show wrong, but does anybody else remember that?

I recall seeing a COLOR episode of the legendary "ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW" that appeared
to be filmed at Travel Town in Los Angeles, California.
I recall that Andy Griffith was using a small town train depot to meet someone.
The train that was shown looked like a UP Streamliner from the late "Cities" era.
I hope that me or somone else can get more info on this.

It was Kelly Monaco.

Western Pacific Haskell & Barker built wood caboose number 754 (which is actually number 769/SN 1623) appeared in episode 234 of The Andy Griffith Show. The episode, named "Aunt Bee's Cousin", first aired on December 4, 1967 and guest starred Jack Albertson as Aunt Bee's Cousin, Bradford J. Taylor.

The AG episode daniel3197 is thinking of was a totally different episode and was filmed at Union Pacific's City of Industry depot near Los Angeles.
