Back in 1992 or 1993, Ross Rowland dolled up the C&O 614 at the B&O Museum with a temporary semi-streamlining and steamed it up to publicize his "21st Century Limited" project. I got some photos that day, but now I need to date them. Ross himself doeasn't remember the exact date -- does anyone else?

According to the photo on Steamlocomotive.info, the steam up was November, 1992. That would probably make sense as someone you know, who was there at the B&O Museum, would soon be leaving for fun and adventure in scenic western Maryland.

It states it was taken March 25, 1992. It be nice to see her steam up again someday.
I was at Port Clinton this past Sunday she looking sad.

The photos of the temporary streamlining we have at the Md. Rail Heritage Library, including night shots by Jim Boyd and myself, are dated Nov. 12, 1992--confirmed by a check with back issues of Railfan & Railroad. The picture at RailPictures.com appears, to my eye and hazy memory, to be a different fire-up for the Museum's steam days of 1992 or 1993, as it has a different paint job on the tender. I remember the November night shoot being rainy, and the temporary decals/banners subbing for paint having lots of trouble staying up in the rain.......
