| Post subject: | Huell Howser vs. the Red Car |
Last night noted local KCET television character Huell Howser's broadcast highlighted the Pacific Electric Subway Terminal building (now trendy apartment building "Metro 417") as well as the new condos built on the site of the PE's Toluca Yard and the Belmont Tunnel portal. Of interest was what appeared to be an LA Railway car sitting in back of the Terminal Building under a tarp. Of course Huell referred to it as a "Red Car", as all streetcars in LA must have been, even if they are yellow and green. Is this car a cast-off from OERM or just an elaborate movie prop or parade float? Chris Allan |

Car 1435 has had a complex and tortured history in the past 20 or 30 years; last I heard it was privately owned and there were plans to put it on display somewhere in downtown Los Angeles. |

Definitely looked like an H3, so that's probably the one. Thanks for the info! Chris Frank Hicks wrote: wsflco wrote: Is this car a cast-off from OERM or just an elaborate movie prop or parade float?
