Does anyone know the current disposition of the unique low-floor streamlined cars built for Pennsylvania's 'Keystone' train in the '50s or '60s? I seem to recall that the whole trainset was kept together and was for sale as a set as recently as 15 years ago. They were quite unique at the time of their construction- I believe they were also head-end powered. davew833@yahoo.com |

The power car and two of the coaches are in service on the Michigan Star Clipper Dinner Train in Walled Lake, Michigan. The last thing I heard about the rest of the coaches was that they were in Iowa and they were for sale, but that was at least 6 years ago. It is claimed that the Keystone train was the first to use HEP as we know it today. cvsrkahuna@aol.com |

The Michigan Star Clipper group has done a wonderful job on their set of cars. Unlike several other their other cars they kept the Keystone cars lettered for the PRR. The only noticeable modification is the addition of several spotlights on the roofs for viewing the passing scenery at night. Of coarse I have a soft spot for these cars since I rented their ex-Amtrak coach and one of the Keystone cars for my wedding reception. They make for one heck of a party! ![]() davelecount@juno.com |
