The East Bay (San Francisco) Express publishes an annual "Best of the East Bay" issue. (partly to insist that San Francisco proper doesn't have a monopoly on culture.)

Anyway, two Bay Area operations got a nice mention.
Ardenwood - they especially liked your locomotive, Randy!

This is a very positive article about NCRy, and good PR is always a good thing.

One oddity: I never cease to be amazed at people's sense of history. The two major bridges in Niles Canyon are described as "Works Progress Administration" (i.e. 1930s-early 1940s while FDR was president), whereas in fact one is 1890s and the other is Harriman-era (just barely into the 1900s). Ah well, it just shows we more to do on the education front!

I have visited both places many times and I agree they both do a good job each in their own way.

Now that the Golden gate Railroad Museum is sharing the site with niles canyon athere is aLOT of equipment to see there.

And of course when they run steam it is always a good thing!
