A line tour of the long removed Kentmere branch in Delaware is up on my website. This little line includes the only railroad tunnel in the entire State of Delaware and a switchback. There will be more to come including a tour of the remaining station and textile mill. Please check it out and let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Tom

Tom, there was a second, wood PRR (I presume) roundhouse on the East side of the Amtrak Main (passenger) Line at street level, about halfway between Wilmington Station and West Yard. It was torn down about 5 years ago when that area was being developed.

I'm not confusing it with the Reading Company (W&N) roundhouse that was on the West side of the PC/PRR until Conrail.

You know, if you put one MORE "x" in "indexx", you can get blocked for having a "Triple-X Rated!" site........... <:-)

Phil,

Yes you can still see the foundations of part of this roundhouse, this was the second one in that area. A first one was located on the property between the present Wilmington Station and the river. I have maps showing both and also the Beech Street facility. The beech Street enginehosue we all knew and loved was one of two that were located at Beech Street. Look for a beech Street page on Forgotten Delaware later in the spring. The problem is now I am backed up about 3 locations that I already have most of the maps and photos and about 10 more I have some of the maps and photos. I also have more photos and information to add to the pages i already have up.
