I wonder if there was any word as to what happened with the MOT deaccession of the various pieces of equipment.

I'm afraid I don't but as I was reading an old article on MOT the other day I was wondering why we don't see more photos of their great collection. Anyone know of a source?

To begin with, let me disclaim my comments by saying that I DO NOT speak in an official or unofficial capacity for Saint Louis County, the Saint Louis County Parks Department, the Museum of Transporation or the Transportation Museum Association.

With that in mind, I do know that the SEPTA PCC left last week. The group in San Diego that also owns a coupl of ex MUNI/SLPS PCC cars was the sucessful bidder. I have heard that all but four pieces have been awarded, but I do not know what equipment or who the new owners are.

We asked for four different pieces and were informed that we were awarded none of them. Although the ones we wanted were items we deemed fitting for our museum, I personally was impressed with the number of business cars that they were offering. These were in horrible shape and several had notes that they were going to need bracing before they could be moved. I have never seen so many business cars in one location.

They had a nice selection of cabooses also. But again, we didn't win any of them either.

The July issue of the St. Louis NRHS chapter newsletter has photos of the Army GE 25-ton diesel being hoisted onto a trailer, but no mention of where it was going.

I believe the U.S. Army GE 25 tonner now resides in Denver, CO at the Platte Valley Trolley compound. It is non-operable but hopefully, that will change soon.

When that loco first arrived at MOT they were able to get the diesel engine running, so that part should be fairly easy. I don't think anyone ever had a chance to look at the electrical equipment. Best of luck with getting it running.
