Hey guys...do you know of anywhere that I can find good vintage audio from different railroads? I know of Semaphore Records, but they only do PRR and I'm lookin for roads like the Virginian, D&H, Soo, or Great Northern. I did find one site... http://www.vintagerailroadaudio.com/Default.aspx But the problem with that one is that the dude only takes checks/money orders, and only gives an email to reach him at. I emailed him yesterday and no response yet. I could send him a check, never get the CD, and I'd have basically no way to contest. Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks! - Dan |

I purchased a CD of vintage CB&Q steam from this man a couple of years ago...he sent a list and I was amazed at the collections of rail sounds that he has. Maybe he has what you are looking for. The only link I have is through ebay: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/weegordie ... omZQQ_ipgZ |

If you have access to a phonograph record player you may want to consider this album of Western Maryland Railway sounds: http://www.westernmarylandrhs.com/catal ... views_id=3 --Ray |

The D&H, Back around their Sesquicentennial? ('69 or a couple of years later, I believe?) issued a nice LP in a box with a decent little book consisting of the president telling of the history of the RR up until then, lots of SFX included. I THINK it was a Semaphore release, but as I don't have it handy, I can't be sure. My facts could be a little off, but there IS an LP--THAT I'm sure of. |

That was a Semaphore release, DLP-6004, and is available from a U.S. vendor at this site http://www.gemm.com/browse/labels/SEMAPHORE/ Scroll down to Delaware & Hudson. Said to be in the box, but without the booket, for $25.00. Jim Tatum. |
