Besides the four at Seashore there are four at Connecticut Trolley Museum and eight at Branford, including the only preserved street railway rotary snow plow and two different types of locomotives besides the various streetcars. Exporail certainly has by far the biggest collection, though. |

It's apparently amazing the amount of stuff that lurks at Seashore with little or no acknowledgment. There's stuff in the "back lots/barns" at Seashore that "fills the gaps" in various other collections that basically hasn't seen the light of day in decades. This apparently begats debates over whether said pieces are better served as minor players in a large collection off in Maine rather than in smaller operations elsewhere. I'm almost wondering if it would be worth the while for the Baltimore or DC museums to snap up an Ohio car or two and try to trade it for the Baltimore or DC cars that lurk up in Kennebunkport....... |
