Pulling this out as its own thread so it doesn't get lost in the trolleys. The Cleveland auction includes an O&W bobber caboose! This may be as rare as any of the trolleys in the auction! Other thread at: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=27901 Rob |

Anyone else besides see Steamtown as a great home for the bobber? I'd contribute to make that happen. They have no O&W equipment, and no bobbers. It would complement their CNJ (or is it L&NE?)/DL&W/LV caboose nicely. Joshua |

I'm going from memory here (not a good idea!), but doesn't some railroad museum own a genuine New York, Ontario & Western diesel? Maybe the only piece of motive power from the O&W still surviving? Les |

There are three known NW-2s that survive. There are two or three known 44 tonners that survive. There is a preserved O&W bobber at a tourist railway in NY which also has one of the NW2s. |

There is also a 1916 vintage NYO&W 8 wheel wood caboose at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum. A picture of this car, in service as Unity Ry. 53A, can be found on page 71 of the current issue of Classic Trains. We have talked about putting the car up for sale, although no decision yet been made. |
