We all know how important it is to get our youngsters interested in history and trains, thought this picture taken today might be of interest and encouragement. We have a crew all under 10 working wonders on our car 57 project, and all having fun doing it too. (please be aware that they all have goggles and gloves, but not for the picture) Its a great atmosphere and they are chipping around 2 feet of the lower wall per day !!! I did cringe when they asked what colour we were going to paint the walls !! One of them suggested black ! Mike Pannell Cheyenne

Very cool! I have taken my oldest daughter down to the 2926 restoration site a couple of times on "easier" days. She has helped install gauge rods. |

As a teacher, I can not emphasize the importance of this enough. It gets your kids involved in something that's important to their father. It shows them that you value their input and efforts. It lets them know they are as important as the project that Dad has chosen to devote himself to. Even if none of the kids go on to be railfans, the lessons in self-esteem, value, and love are far more important. Good parenting. Good RYPN submission! |

Just one thing - lead based paint chips and children don't mix well. Please add dust masks to your arsenal of safety appliances. dave |
