| Post subject: | Need manuals for Duff Norton 50 ton jacks |
At the Travel Town Museum, we are currently disassembling and cleaning two Duff Norton 50 Ton mechanical screw jacks. We'd sure like to beg, borrow or steal some owners/operators/parts manuals for these jacks. They are of course too old for Duff Norton to still support or have manuals for (we have been talking to them) but I know there are a lot of these still in museums around the country. Does anyone have any manuals for them or a similar model we could get copied or scanned? We don't have an actual model number, and there aren't any numbers on the parts that suggest they are model numbers. There is one label plate riveted to the main casting, but any text on it has long ago been worn away. These are not the more modern air motor jacks. We have manuals for those. What we do know are: 14 inch Rise Main casting is no. 5260 BB, also N-440-3 Base casting is no. 15-BB-42 Gearbox casting in no. N321 Plunger is N4 60 Thanks, Greg I have images posted over on train orders. I'll have to wait until later to put the files somewhere so I can link to them here. I'll edit this when that is done. |
