Depending on how one defines it, there may be a steam locomotive on display in Angelica, NY, not currently listed on either steamlocomotive.com or steamlocomotive.info. There is a display at the county fairgrounds by the Pittsburg, Shawmut & Northern Historical Society, which includes an 0-4-0, seen in this picture:

I have an old newsletter from the group with the background of this display:

"It was built by the Davenport Locomotive Co. in Davenport, Iowa. It was built as a 0-4-0T, tank engine and first saw service at a Tannery Operation in teh St. Marys Pennsylvania area. Over the years I have been trying to determine the builders construction number but to no avail. It may have been used elsewhere. After the closing of the tannery, the engine is owned by the Howe Leather Company in Mt. Jewett, Pennsylvania. This company converted this into a gasoline locomotive. It took off the boiler and placed a shroud over the working parts. It was capable of hauling one loaded car or two empties within the confines of the Leather Company property. The Leather Company went bankrupt and at an auction, the Krellner brothers, Bill and Paul acquired this locmotive. It sat on their estate on the road between St. Marys and Emporium for some years complete with the shroud on it. It was once again sold to a dentist in Emporium Pennsylvania. I am not sure if the engine was actually ever taken to Emporium.

Then enters Mike Clery who obtained the locomotive and brought the under frame to the Allegany County Fair Grounds in Angelica. He then donated it to the Shawmut Society....Many things were needed (to restore it) including a brass bell....the boiler was donated by Merle Case...".

I'll leave it to others to decide if this is a "new locomotive" for records purposes or not.
