Hello, Recent press releases claim ground breaking on a multiuse facility to be built in Pottsville including a bus station and train station? We all know this town is served by one railroad, what would the station be for?....new rail commuter service....to Reading-Philly? It seems a bit odd that they would mention train station if it was to be only used for tourist trips or occasional use, etc. Does anyone else know more information on the plan? Regards, Randy |

Sounds like it could be an excursion destination for the Reading & Northern? Haven't heard anything about whether or not Amtrak would want to have some sort of service into Pottsville. |

They may be planning ahead. If the $chuylkill Valley Metro ever gets funded, and later extended, an Intermodal Center that can also serve it could be useful. |

A new station would be cool. They still have the ancient RDG depot there. |
