I just received a notice of an amusement park auction this evening, for an auction that's taking place tomorrow(!).

The listing contains a reference to a "1910 railroad engine".

The auction is at the "Deer Forest Amusement Park" in Coloma Michigan. Anybody know what this engine might be?

(There's also an amusement park railroad listed, including a loco, three cars, and track, with photographs, but this is under a different listing)

SR6900: Thanks for your note. Your Google search turned up the same auction notice that I had received yesterday. Their "Phase One" lists the Huntington railroad engine, while the "Phase Four" lists a 1910 railroad engine. This implies, to me at least, that there are two distinct items.

For what it is worth, the "Chase Huntington" does not look to be a CP Huntington. I'm pretty certain based on the locomotive trucks and frame, and the car designs and trim on the top of each seat, that this is a National Amusement Device (NAD). Some how they took an ugly locomotive and made it worse, but that aside it all looks to be in half way decent shape. Should sell at a fairly affordable price versus what a Chance would sell for. Might be a nice little income producer for a small museum.

Those poor people in the photos have horrible facial deformities.

A YouTube-posted commercial from the 1980s shows a "streamlined" red diesel "bulldog-nose" locomotive..........
