If anyone out there has access to an issue of a Railway Equipment Register, Pocket List of RR officials, or other "official" publication that lists reporting marks, and can find a listing for the Illinois Railway Museum, which lists reporting mark "IRYM", I'd appreciate knowing the publication, issue, and page number, for reference purposes at Wikipedia.

Jeff,

Railinc Corp., a subsidiary of AAR, issues Railroad Standard Carrier Alpha Codes (a.k.a. "reporting marks") for all railroads and private owners in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
A search of their database at http://tinyurl.com/ydb5d2j shows no assignment for the marks "IRYM".

If the Museum were to apply to Railinc for a reporting mark, the mark assigned would end in "X", as the Museum isn't a common-carrier railroad.

He's not talking about a current listing. He needs to know if at some point in the past that these marks were used and registered as such. Read his post as I'm sure he has done his homework with current information.
Jdelhaye, I will check my 1986 RER.

IRYM is an FRA "railroad mark", but not all FRA railroad marks have corresponding AAR/UMLER reporting marks.

Sometime in the last five years I saw a list of reporting marks that included dates when a given mark began and ended, plus a few that had more than one owner over their life. Now I just need to remember where I saw that list.

...Oh I KNOW they were used...I just need the reference to prove it, and a picture of equipment with IRYM marks isn't quite adequate.
