The internet and google continue to change our world. I just noticed on news.google.com that you can search newspaper archives from decades past. You have to pay for the majority of the stories but there are lots of free ones too. I found this one about the Freedom Train as an example.

Secondly, one books.google.com which we discussed here before they have added a boatload of magazines. Also many have a cost but you can filter these by "full view only" on the drop down menu. Here is a link to a 1913 edition of The Railway Age.

Enjoy!

I have read recently where Google will soon start offering the service of printing hard copies of books available on Google Books. There are numerous public domain engineering texts available on there which are available nowhere else, and the ability to now have hard copies of these books is phenomenal.
