I've got a listing at home which would probably provide the answer - if I remember (I'm working nights this week) or you could try the North British Locomotive Society http://www.nbloco.net/

North British 25086 was indeed a Riddles designed WD type 2-8-0.
The loco was built in 1943 as part of a large NBL order for WD 2-8-0s Orders L943 & L943A. This particular loco became WD77215. It was loaned to the LNER in 9/1943, then to GWR in 11/1944, returned to the WD in 2/1945, and went on loan to the LNER again in 10/1947. It became BR 90189 and was scrapped in 11/1965. For all their "austerity" type (some would say ugly) design, they seemed to have done a good job. This loco did not go overseas to Europe like many of of its fellow locos, many of which ended up with the Dutch Railways.
Best sources of info are: "Heavy Goods Engines of the War Department - Austerity 2-8-0 and 2-10-0" Vol 3 by JWP Rowledge, and "Allied Military Locomotives of the Second World War" by Rick Tourret. Copies should still be available, certainly of the latter volume.
