Thank you for the heads up for the picture on ebay. I hope that I can end up with it. We are still working on #126. We think that we will have the tubes in it before I head to FL after Christmas. We now have a third tank engine from the hard coal mining area. It was used by the Jeddo Company in Hazelton area. It's first owner was A E Dick with the number 3885 which was it's construction number. I hope that I can live long enough to see all three engines running at the same place at the same time. Thanks for the update, now I can't wait all the more.

My paternal family is from Hazleton, my Dad's uncle worked in the Ashmore shops of the Lehigh Valley-some of his tools were donated to the Railroad museum of Pa a few years back and profiled in their membership publication, which I found for sale in the gift shop quite by accident.

My dad's brother/my uncle used to live in Ebervale, a mere stone's throw from the Jeddo Highland operations.

The "lokis"/breakers are all gone now but the "Anthracite King" is still pulling coal from that area, as it has since sometime in the 1950's. There used to be family films of this thing "walking" on its giant pads.

As a kid I used to wonder how something that big could operate so silently; you'd hear a crash as the bucket hit paydirt; then the chains, a whir as it spun to deliver the load; then a swoosh as the bucket was unloaded into giant dump trucks (Euclids or "ukes") It kind of looked like a smaller version of "big Muskie". The secret of course is that they are electrically powered.

For history fans, you aren't far from Eckley; where the events that lead up to the movie "The Molly Maguires" occurred, also not far from Latimore, site of the infamous "Latimore Massacre"; a lesser known event in the history of hard coal.

It is as they say a small world...

John. Thanks for all that you do to make us railfans happy. I've ridden behind 75 once when she visited the North Carolina Transportation Museum. I really enjoyed seeing her and hope to ride behind her and the 126 in the future.

I echo the hope to see one or all three in northeast PA. A Vulcan parade through Wilkes-Barre?

For the record, while the "Molly Maguires" movie was filmed at Eckley (and other NEPA locations) the historical events took place to the south and west in the area predominantly mined by Philadelphia & Reading Iron & Coal. Tamaqua, Girardville and Gilberton figured in the events, with Mauch Chunk witnesseing the trial and punishment.
