These 2 old reefers are situated just off the main road in Woodsville, NH, yet hidden from view. "Armour" is still clearly visible on one of them. The busness that they are attached to appears to be out of business... that old paint really stood up!

I would imagine these are not the type of exhibit many museums would feature. This is a great find. I wonder if an organization might rescue one or both?

Armour had a packing house in Woodsville. Meat reefers like the ones in your photos would be set off by the CPR at Wells River, and the B&M would come over from Woodsville, pick them up, and spot them at the plant. (Info from Dwight Smith.) It's been years since I've been to Wells River, but that building could be the Armour facility. Is the freight station still there?

Hi Walt, the cars are located directly behind the freight house -which is now a hardware/co-op store...
