P>J>Lynch #10 of the Blue Jay Lumber Co was built in 6/12 as shop # 1252 78 ton, and is the first successful 3 truck heisler built. It was sold to Standard/Pickering Lumber around 1922. After its tenure as the Standard Yard switcher it was sold for scrap in 1962 to Connell Brothers in Stockton, Ca where many steamers languished. Gus Peterson got the engine around 1968 and used it on his Klamath and Hoppow Valley tourist railroad in Klamath, Ca. After closure of the line in 1973, the locomotive collection was purchased by the Mt. Rainier group which included a 2-8-2 Minerets tank, and Pickering #11 PC shay. The #10 arrived in Elbe in 1981. The #10 had some big guns on her... 18"boreX15"stroke. It is as previously stated in Elbe proper located at the entrance to the station area of the Mt. Rainier Scenic R.R. with the ballon stack from the Climax #10 on her. P.J. Lynch was the president of the Blue Jay Lumber Co. located in Raleigh, West Va.
