On the Delaware Lackawanna Yahoo list, the president of GVT (DL's parent company) announced that they will have a 4th Alco RS3 running in time for next year's NRHS Convention in Scranton.

They have several inoperable RS3's on the property - not sure which one will become #4. Should be quite a sight!

Probably going to be the Reading 467. I believe that unit is owned by the Anthracite group.

Reading 467 is now owned by GVT Rail... and, again, a VERY reliable birdie tells me it will be the CNJ unit...

They'll have enough turbo lag to qualify for a smoke generator for the 4012! Wonderful news. Does anyone have a complete list of what GVT owns, either operable or not? Wonderful coverage in TRAINS publications lately BTW.

I think Newriver's birdie is right on. The last I heard was that the CNJ unit would be next, but with all things, it's subject to change. I'd sure love to see the unit running for the convention.

As for the convention, look for some announcements in the near future. We've got a couple good steam trips, some surprises and some rare mileage lined up. Oh yea, those RS-3's too!

Oh yeah, I had forgotten that they recently acquired the 1554.

When did ownership of the Reading 467 change? I was under the impression that it was in Scranton for work (of unknown quantity) in which the D-L would be compensated by using the locomotive. Of course, its been sitting at Steamtown for quite some time now....

The DL's CMO has announced that it is going to be CNJ 1554 and it will be repainted in its CNJ scheme.
