They did an excellent job of restoring it My first encounter with it was around 1983 .I visited the Granite Rock plant in Aromas one Sunday and asked the guard if I could take pictures of it and the GEs. Being a different era then permission was granted #10 was on a disused siding looking like it was falling apart on closer approach I heard a humming sound coming from the locomotive and saw that the boiler jacket and cylinder area had become a giant bee colony said residents being displeased with my prescence I wonder how many bee stings have been associated with this locomotives restoration?

The number 10 will be visiting the Niles Canyon Railway again this spring. 2007's event was so much fun that we decided to do it again and invited another tank locomotive, the Mason County Logging #7.

Wasn't this the engine that was purchased from the defunct Tombstone Junction Amusement park in Cumberland Falls, Kentucky in the early 1990's?

I think you may be thinking of the Porter 0-4-0T that went to Palmdale or Lancaster California

There were two USATC 0-6-0T's at Tombstone Junction (Cumberland Falls, KY). One went to John Caperton, and is stored at KRM in derelect condition. I understand the other one went to California State RR Museum, and was made into a cutaway display.

Porter 0-6-0T #717 (US Army, but not a USATC) went from Bluegrass Railroad Museum (Versailles, KY) to Lancaster, CA. This is a 70 ton engine, much larger than the 50 ton USATC locos.
