Does anyone here have information on the following: Weight of ALCO 6-251A/B with GE GT584 and turbocharger Weight of Drop-equalized switcher trucks with GE 752 TM's and 40 inch wheels Total weight of ALCO S6 ? Thanks. |

The engine with Gen and turbo is 33,350 pounds The truck with traction motor is 36,900 pounds. The entire locomotive is 230,000 pounds I hope this helps John Mech |

Cool data on an S6. Could you tell me what a MRS-1 truck weighs? Three axle, 3 traction motors, 40" wheels, etc. I may have reason to take one apart. Chris |

This is from is ALCo GE RSX-4 MRS TM 55-2210-216-10,page 5 The weight for all major part are list. This unit weight 120 ton an a 244 engine and 2 truck with 3 traction motor on one truck. The GE was the built use the body by ALCo to get a contact with ARMY to supply 83 unit. Smile Stan Paulsen
