Just out of curiosity, have any Airslide hoppers been saved? They pretty much are never seen in modern trains anymore (well, they are getting old!), an I always liked seeing the old Pillsbury first generation Airslides when I was going to school in Milwaukee some years back.

Going from memory here so I may have something slightly wrong, but the B&O Museum received several from Domino Sugar, kept at least one and sold or otherwise transferred others to the Western Maryland Scenic for use in their photo freights. Details may be off here but the basic idea is right--you can find them preserved in Baltimore and Cumberland.

I know of a C+O airslide (in full Chessie paint!) that is in the process of being saved. I can say no more than that until its finalized.
