Last year, some speculation was raised concerning the renewal of one of the two CPR Northerns, 3100 and 3101. In view of the wonderful archive film we've recently viewed, I have several questions. Has CPR run the 2816 this year, and when might we expect to see her in operation once more? Has any further effort gone into the projected addition of a 4-8-4? I've been aboard 3100, and except for some minor cab vandalism (theft of brake handle, etc.), she looks great, having been displayed indoors. What is the current condition of 3101? She's outdoors, looks good at a distance, but little else is available in terms of how she's kept. Has anyone anything to add regarding this lovely diversion? |
