This week i have been restoring our original and 2nd hand windows that will go back in the north side of the car. Its interesting what stories a humble window can tell. The oak window in the links below comes from C&S car 529 (which we have 2 photos of in service) which was converted to a motor car (doodlebug) trailer in November 1929 and at some point after withdrawal donated some of its windows to our car 57/513. We also have windows from 528 and ones we salvaged from 525. Anyhow we also set up our stove in the centre of the car today so that we can work comfortably (and burn all the old exterior siding, most fitting !) inside during the coldest days.
